In 1960/61, Paul Schärer, the owner of USM had the idea of creating a modern industrial enterprise out of the well-established metal construction and hardware company of his forefathers. The architect Fritz Haller was commissioned to design and realize a new factory for USM. His pionering concept for a modular flexible factory system opened new possibilities - Fritz Haller and Paul Schärer had the idea to transfer the same 'model' out of the 'macro' to the 'micro area'.- In 1963/64 the well-known furniture system was created for Schärer's own requirements in order to furnish their office. In 1965 the USM Haller System came onto the Swiss market for the first time. Since then , in addition to the development of completely new produkt lines like the 'USM KITOS' table system, existing products were continuously adapted to the changing user needs.- Even after years the customer has the possibilty to change his 'old' system to a 'state of the art' system.- Besides that you can vary the system in width or height whenever you want, adapt shelfes, doors etc... It's a system that can grow with your demands. |
